University Fees and Scholarships in Turkey

State and foundation university fees, 25-100% scholarships, monthly cost of living and total annual budget — the complete picture on one page.

State University Tuition Fees

Turkish state universities offer foreign students one of the cheapest higher-education price tags in the world. Annual undergraduate tuition ranges from 240 to 900 USD depending on the program, university and language of instruction. Turkish-medium programs are most affordable (240-500 USD), English-medium tracks slightly higher (500-900 USD), and health programs such as medicine and dentistry sit at the top (700-1,200 USD).

Foreign students admitted through YOS may pay an additional small contribution. Türkiye Bursları scholarship students at state universities pay nothing — the entire tuition is covered by the Turkish government. Umar Egitim places students in the most suitable state university and provides full YOS preparation support.

Foundation University Tuition Fees

Foundation university undergraduate tuition ranges from 4,000 to 25,000 USD annually. The elite tier (Koc, Sabanci, Bilkent) sits at 18,000-25,000. Mid-tier foundations (Bahcesehir, Yeditepe, Kadir Has, Istanbul Aydin) are at 8,000-14,000. More economical foundations (Beykent, Uskudar, Atilim) start at 4,000-7,000 USD.

Medicine, dentistry and pharmacy carry 50-100% premiums over standard departments; some medical programs reach 30,000 USD. Engineering and business stay at the standard rate. At our partner foundation universities, Umar Egitim secures 25-75% scholarships for students; high-YOS scorers can access special 100% scholarship channels.

Cost of Living

Turkey is one of the most affordable countries in Europe. A foreign student's monthly total expenses in metropolitan cities like Istanbul, Ankara or Izmir range from 350 to 700 USD. In smaller cities (Eskisehir, Konya, Trabzon) the figure drops to 250-500 USD. Accommodation is the single largest budget item: university dorms cost 50-150 USD, private student residences 150-300 USD, shared student apartments 200-400 USD per month.

Food costs roughly 100-200 USD per month; university canteens offer subsidised meals for 1-2 USD. Public-transport student passes are 15-25 USD/month. Budget another 50-100 USD for internet, phone, entertainment and personal expenses. Umar Egitim provides free accommodation placement and city orientation for its students.

Estimated Total Annual Budget
